Kandrakota Village :

Kandrakota, which is 5 km away from Peddapuram town is famous for centuries old temple of Goddess Nookalamma.The annual festival fair in the name of Goddess Nookalamma will be celebrated during April.This festival fair is rated 5 among the top 10 festival fairs of the country.This village is covered with green paddy,coconut and sugarcane fields along the river Yeleru.

This village is having Zilla Parishad High School,Primary Health Center,Veterinary Hospital,Rama temple,a church,GitaMandir,Library,Tailoring Center for women.The Zilla Parishad school authorities approached Batchu Foundation along with Kandrakota Village Development Committee members and requested to provide furniture,like benches and desks for the school.On this Batchu Foundation team visited the school and identified the requirement,not only the furniture but also the additional classrooms. This project was approved and gave the clearance to take up the work.

During inspection of the progress of school construction work,the Village Development Committee brought some other requirements to the notice of Batchu Foundation. When,Dr.Batchu questioned the people of Kandrakota during public meeting ' What is your individual commitment and involvement on the projects? You are requesting for funding? ' This is where the people's response was overwhelmed and many people came forward for individual commitment and involvement on the projects ? You are requesting for funding?' This is where the people's response was overwhelmed and many people came forward for individual participation in certain projects and gave consent on the spot.Batchu Foundation also committed to take up the following projects: Primary Health Center ( additional rooms ), Veterinary Hospital ( New building ),Gita Mandir (Community Hall ) and donated sewing machines for Tailoring Center for women.

During the next visit,it is observed that there is a tremendous progress of each project. Batchu Foundation was congratulated by the Village Sarpanch Sri Batchu Satyanarayana and his youth team for their dedicated service to the village. The following projects their identified by the Government to take up with public participation.
1. Construction of houses for needy people.
2. Laying of concrete roads in the village.
3. Dhobikhana (Washerman Ghat )
4. Water overhead tank with submersible bore well and pumping scheme.
5. Library building.

By seeing the people's involvement and dedication,Batchu Foundation gave special attention to this great village and committed to take up all the above projects with Government participation.During this visit the other projects committed are,audio system for the Church, maintenance of Rama temple,Saibaba temple and Anjaneya temple,provision of color TV for public.Computer with Internet to High School etc.
The total projects cost is Rs.20,00,000/-
